https://banrjournal.org/index.php/banrj/article/view/109

Introduction: Diarrhea in toddlers is a significant health problem in Indonesia, with severe impacts such as dehydration, malnutrition, and death. Environmental, socio-economic factors and limited maternal knowledge about handling diarrhea influence the high incidence rate.

Objective: This study aims to describe mothers' level of knowledge about handling diarrhea in toddlers in Banjar Kampung Islam Kepaon.

Methods: The research was quantitative descriptive with a purposive sampling technique and involved 115 samples. Data was collected using questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability.

Results: The results showed that the majority of respondents had a sufficient level of knowledge about handling diarrhea in toddlers, namely 64 respondents (55.7%), of which 57 respondents (49.6%) were 26-35 years old who worked as housewives as many as 64 respondents (55.7%), with the last education of high school/vocational school as many as 62 respondents (53.9%) and obtained information sources through health workers as many as 78 respondents (67.8%). The majority of mothers' knowledge levels were the lowest, related to the question of giving zinc according to age, dehydration condition, and time of administration, which was 37 respondents (32.17%), and the highest was related to the question of bringing toddlers to health services if diarrhea does not improve in 3 days as many as 112 respondents (97.39%). The level of maternal knowledge is quite influenced by exposure to information through health worker education programs.

Conclusion: These results show the need for more targeted education-based interventions, especially zinc administration and signs of dehydration, to improve the mother's ability to manage diarrhea optimally.
Ni Kadek Gina Ananda PutriKiki Rizki Fista AndrianaNi Komang Ayu ResiyanthiNi Ketut Ayu MirayantiKetut Lisnawati

https://banrjournal.org/index.php/banrj/article/view/122

Introduction: Diarrhea remains a global health issue, particularly in vulnerable groups. Guava leaf (Psidium guajava) decoction is widely recognized in traditional medicine for treating diarrhea. Self-efficacy refers to belief in one's ability to apply knowledge in practice, crucial in health contexts. College students were selected as the population due to their potential as future health change agents who can integrate traditional practices into modern healthcare.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the self-efficacy of Padjadjaran University students in using guava leaf decoction to manage diarrhea.

Method: A descriptive quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted. The sample included 113 students selected through purposive sampling. The General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), a standardized tool for measuring belief in one's ability to manage various situations, assessed students' confidence in traditional treatments. Data were collected via Google Forms and analyzed using univariate descriptive statistics.

Results: Most students (54.9%) showed low self-efficacy in using guava leaf decoction for diarrhea treatment.

Conclusions: The findings highlight the need for educational institutions to strengthen health education by incorporating evidence-based traditional medicine into academic curricula. This can be achieved through complementary nursing courses and awareness initiatives that promote informed, safe use of natural remedies like guava leaf decoction
Rica Nur Aprilia LantangDyah SetyoriniTaty Hernawaty

https://banrjournal.org/index.php/banrj/article/view/123

Introduction: Creatinine is an examination parameter for kidney function and can be measured by several methods. Quality control needs to be done to ensure the results of the creatinine examination are correct.

Objective: This study aims to determine the results of the quality control analysis of creatinine examination with Westgard multirules and Six Sigma in the clinical pathology laboratory at Wangaya Hospital, Denpasar, in 2023.

Methods: This study used a descriptive research design, secondary data, and quality control results. Data analysis was done by determining the mean value, SD, CV, d%, sigma, and making the Levey-Jennings graph. The results showed that the bias value (d%) was still below the maximum value; the CV value in January, March, April, and July exceeded the maximum limit. Evaluation of Westgard's rules obtained the results of violations of trends, shifts, and 1- 2s, then variations in sigma values each month, namely <3 and >4 from June and September to December 2023.

Results: Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that creatinine examination obtained a good accuracy value, low precision value in certain months, there are random (1- 2s) and systematic (trend and shift) errors, and a low sigma value, which is <3 (unacceptable performance and poor performance categories). However, the sigma value has increased from June to September to December, which is >3 (marginal performance, good performance, and world-class performance categories).

Conclusion: Accuracy and precision values must be maintained because good accuracy and precision values will increase the sigma value, especially in creatinine testing.
Wayan Shinta WatiAnak Agung Ayu Eka CahyaniDiah PrihatiningsihPutu Ayu Parwati

https://banrjournal.org/index.php/banrj/article/view/116

Introduction: Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Indonesia is still a serious concern in the world, especially in endemic areas. This disease arises and is transmitted from the Dengue virus through the bite of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, which can be suffered from toddlers to adults. If not treated immediately, it can lead to death. The government is promoting a mosquito nest eradication program through the 5M movement (draining, covering, burying, replacing water, and sprinkling larvicide powder) as a key preventive measure in reducing the spread of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes that depend on community behavior.

Objective: This study aims to find out the picture of community behavior in Mosquito Nest Eradication (5M) as an effort to prevent dengue fever in Banjar Tengkulak Kaja Kauh, the working area of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit of the Sukawati I Health Center.

Methods: The research was quantitative descriptive with a simple random sampling technique and involved 175 samples. Data was collected using questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability

Results: The results showed that the majority of respondents were categorized as having fair behavior, as many as 112 respondents (64%), 53 respondents (30.3%) had good behavior, and 10 respondents (5.7%) had poor behavior.

Conclusion: Most of the community's behavior was found to be in a fair category, which shows that although the community's knowledge and attitudes are relatively good, there is still a gap in the implementation of the action, so sustainable programs and social support are needed to increase the active participation of the community in the eradication of mosquito nests.
Ni Kadek Virna ErikayaniPutu Wiwik OktavianiMoh.
